I had microsoft word, publisher, excel, and some other microsoft on there, but my friend called himself cleaning my computer up and rebooted it with the Cds. My laptop was like new after words, too new. The main programs that I need are no longer here. How do I get them back?

Use the CD to reinstall ... or restore disk if the programs came on your computer. If they didn't come on your computer, use whatever you used to start with to put them on.

Unfortunately you can't get them back, not very easily anyway. If you have the Installer CD, you should use that to re-install the program. If not, I'm afraid you have to buy them.
And, btwy, while you are at it, why don't you give your 'friend' a punch on his/her head for trying 'to clean up' without thinking the consequences.

The programs you mentioned come on a CD. Simply pop in the correct CD and it should auto start for you to select to install the programs.

You will need the CD to install them. Why install? Microsoft offers them for use on their website. You can save your documents to the hard drive and not have to waste space installing office.
