I would look because I don't know anything. Learning about myself would be the best place to start.

Would the truth mirror reveal who we are at the moment or who we were born to be? If we could see both, then I would look. This is something I think about regularly and go to confession when I see how far I am falling short of being the person God created me to be. It is good to periodically check where you are on the roadmap and make plans to get back on course before you stray too far.

Wow! I really like this question.
I sure would look! Especially right now. I am so desperate for God to reveal the areas in my life that are keeping me from His abundance and blessings. I'm sure I would see all the good stuff that he has already placed in me....the hard part would be the bad, ugly part of my heart.
The cool thing is......I don't have that mirror and will never have that mirror.....I can ask God to reveal the truth about myself, the good and the bad, and ask him to purge the bad and restore and rejuvenate the good!

I'm trying to think of something that a "magic mirror" would reveal to me that I didn't already know. Would it tell me I'm conceited? According to whom and by what standard? Maybe I'm a geek? (I AM a geek!)
Would not looking be an admittance that I don't want to know the truth? Or that I don't like myself as it is and finding out "truths" about myself would hurt my self esteem?

There is a truth mirror! It's called God's holy spirit. It is the discerner of men's hearts, and reveals to us our true nature. And believe me....it hasn't been pretty!

What do you mean "If there was"... ???
There IS a truth mirror and we face ourselves in it daily; however, not everyone wants to truly look at themself.
Like Dr. Phil says, you can't change what you don't acknowledge.

No, because I don't need mirror of truth, nor anybody else to tell me who I am. I already know, because I am the only author of the book that is ME, and nobody can know Me,better than Me.
What could it tell you anyway? That you are better at some things than others? That you are worse at some things than others?
Don't we all already know this?

I totally agree and support Sandy's post. I would love to see myself the way that God sees me and to see where I need to improve myself. It's too difficult to rely on others for this as they have only their limited and biased viewpoints on what I need to correct.

Indeed.
Why? Because I have trouble seeing myself clearly enough to ask God to remove my shortcomings. If I could see them more clearly and objectively, I could become closer to God by asking him to help me grow beyond any stunting character defects to which I am currently blinded.
