i'm a guy in my late 20's . i met a lady at a party. we had alot of things and common , live near by and seemed to like get along nicely so we ended up exchanging email addresses at the end of the night. the other day i email her and say something like, 'hey, i want to want to catch a movie tomorrow, want to come?' and she says 'sure' . we both approached this very casually and not so much as a date (not that i wouldnt want to ask this girl out) . at this point, i don't know if this is a "date" and i should it approach it such (pay for the dinner and the movie etc) . obviously, i dont know wheather or not if SHE thinks of this as a date either. IS THIS A DATE and SHOULD I APPROACH IT AS SUCH? i'd like your oppinion..thanks.

well, it sounds to me, if you are interested in her for dating, it is...a date. If not...then it is friends. if you are the only two going, I would say date. If it is a group...I woudl say friends. And if you are interested in her, and you think she has interest, I would buy here the ticket and have fun! I have had this happen to me...and it was a DATE. Don't feel unconfortable though.

It might turn out to be a date, but since you both made the plans rather casually, you should just treat it casually. Split the dinner check and buy your own ticket. Focus on getting to know her and having good time and don't put any pressure on yourself. If it goes well and she's signaling interest, ask her out again.

It's a date; you asked her, and she accepted. Take her to the movies, pay the tab, and have fun.

If you happen to say, "can we do this again", and she says yes, then you will have another date.

If you ask the girl out, it's your place to pay the tab unless she says, upon acceptance, "yes, but only if you let me pay ( my tab, or for both).
She might suggest on future dates, that you alternate paying.

But you have a date, guy!

It sounds like she's interested in you, if she wasnt then she wouldnt give you her email. Girls are usually picky about who they date, and especially who they give there email's to. So it sounds like you could approach this as a date. =]

Yeah, it sounds like a date, but don't give her any flowers or candy. Don't give her any gifts.
Since you invited her; offer to pay, but you don't have to if she insists.
She'll probably think of it as a date too.
