I just had a housewarming and most of the people who came got me gifts. Mostly I got wine glasses, several bottles of wine and spirits, and a fancy bottle opener. Regardless of what the occasion is, it seems that these kind of gifts are a shure bet right? Althought I don't particularly care for all these wine glasses, I can't seem to ever get rid of them. I give them as gifts too LOL. But I always get them back :) Does this seem like your experice?

Yes, this has been my experience and it appears to be a gift that you can pick your price-range and be relatively sure the person receiving will like.

I think it is a bit like giving money -- little thought is necessary to give this as a gift and it is therefore a last minute, oh I forgot, gift.

how a lot money do you've on the age of 16? be particular to get presents by your self kinfolk formerly you commence paying for for someone else. You bf's mom provides issues because she may already have those issues in her fabric cupboard drawer or perhaps she receives loose samples from a salon chum. in case you get her something, ascertain it isn't expensive - only a token present that shows your appreciation for her. One Christmas I had a boyfriend that i had to influence so i purchased him a jacket that value very nearly all the money in my monetary employer account. i became embarrassed on Christmas when I had no presents for my mothers and fathers or brothers and sisters - I had spent all my earnings this boyfriend and did not dare tell my mothers and fathers. We broke up lengthy formerly the subsequent Christmas got here visiting. at the on the spot are not making the mistakes of questioning that your boyfriend on the age of 16 is going to develop into your existence better half. you're too youthful to be questioning like that, and maximum relationships at 16 do not very last till 17. do not "make investments" each little thing into this guy and his mom - he's normally out of your existence through next year.

Because it is an impersonal gift. If you do not know what else the person likes, alcohol seems like the perfect gift. If you can't use it yourself, most people will have guests that will drink it.

I think people believe that is a nice gift because now that you have a place of your own... you can entertain more now?

Alcohol is something most people can use on occasion or as you said re-gift later.

Maybe the reason is that your friends think everyone wants or needs that sort of thing. Another likely answer is those friends do or do not know you well enough to give you something else you like, want, or need.
