Why do people bother us with their questions, some of which are outrageous, and then don't even have the decency to take the time to select a best answer? How significant or important can their question be if they don't even have time to select a best answer?

There are some people who continually ask questions to annoy people of various ethnic groups, religions, and lifestyle choices and never take the time to select a best answer. I can understand a person who asks more questions than they have time to answer. However, there are some who make this a deliberate and intentional practice.

They are lazy and inconsiderate. They have read their answers and feel no need to follow through for the people that provided those answers. Simple selfishness.

Sometimes I ask a question that doesn't have a 'right' answer, not even in a subjective sense - For example: "Who, in your real life, had the most influence on your beliefs?". That sort of question can have some very interesting answers but it's appropriate to leave it to a vote.

Some people just ask the question and then never go back. If I put a question to vote, I put in an "add detail" that I can't decide.

Or, why do people ask vague questions with no details? Then people have to answer a question with a question and the "answerers" never get an answer!!

You know you are going to have to pick a best answer!!!

I guess maybe that persons question just wasn't important enough to them at the time. It's pretty sad to do that though. I hope you don't forget to select a best answer. It would terrible if you forgot also.

I usually select a best answer. If I ask a serious question and somebody answers it with well thought out advice, I'll pick that person as best ansewer. If I ask a "funny" question I'll pick the one that makes me laugh the most!!!!!

This site is for many a way to pass time. I am actually disappointed at times at the difficulty in finding worthy questions to answer.

I don't know if it has anything to do with being decent. I asked some questions and none of them were good answers so why pick an answer?

They do it to be funny (outrageous questions) and to annoy people who let the little things in life bother them. Ahem!

You would think they'd do it for the points if nothing else. My "policy" on questions I ask is I decide five hours after the last answer.

Sometimes there is no best answer.. sometimes you agree with everybody or no one.. I am guilty of that on 2 occasions. Everyone's answers were good,. . I could not decide..
