I agree. But that's they way they do it now. If they can get away from doing expensive procedures they will. I think they are secretly hoping you will go home and die and then they won't have to deal with you at all. I have gallstones too. I wondered why they didn't take them out while they were small and not wait until they fester and explode and make be almost dead...but the doctor laughed and said...Don't worry honey, they'll come out sooner or later. Don't rush them.....Whatever.......

I think what they did for you is the right thing. I've done a little research on it (because the doctor thought I had that problem, turns out they were kidney stones). I know the pain is not a good thing but they are really helping you right now. If you do have gall stones they are trying to desolve them. The alternative would be to take out your gall bladder. Removing your gall bladder does not solve the problem, it only adds to it. My sister had her gall bladder removed and now has almost just as many problems but it's worse now. (Sensitive to many more foods, they make her sick) Many doctors will tell you, you can do without your gall bladder which is true but the gall bladder removes stress from your liver. Without it your liver has to work double time. Do some reasearch try to change your eating habits this may help them go away. I would make it a last resort to have it removed. Best of luck!

You're wrong. The doctors know better than you. Sorry to burst your bubble, but just being in pain doesn't merit hospitalization. Generally speaking, neither do gallstones. Based on this and your next question, I've reached the conclusion that you're a bona fide moron.

You don't need to be in the hospital just because you are in pain. Gallstones are not life threatening. The doc is trying to treat you without surgery. In addition to the rx, he should have given you dietary restrictions. Give it a chance.

no. any pain meds would mask any symptoms of a true emergency. Doctors treat by keeping it simple, or an optimistic skepticism. Maybe the script will do its job, then, great, you are good. In 2 months the medication will reach a medicinal level in your body, if their is no decrease in s/s- they will treat you further.

if the doctor was able to give you a diagnosis he performed some testing on you.. it is properly not the doc's sole decision but insurance and hospital politics... many people have gallstones, the surgery is invasive and has plenty of risks... go to your pcp and discuss what your options are.... and watch what you eat, stay away from fried foods and processed foods eat veggies and fruits stay away from salty and fried foods

gallstones could signal liver disease...make an appointment with your doctor and go from there.
common illnesses or diseases that can make one have gallstones are HCV, NASH and several others.
they will not put you in the hospital unless there is infection of the gallbladder.
Good luck!

They usually like to wait until a gall bladder calms down after an acute attack before removing it. Check with your own doctor if you are unhappy about what the hospital folks told you.
