I don't know but Chocolate and cherries, are a wonderful combination! Raisins may be subsituted for the cherries if desired. These are very good.
Chocolate Cherry Muffins
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups milk chocolate chips, divided
1/4 cup firmly-packed brown sugar
1/4 cup white sugar (if you prefer more sweeter muffins, then add in more sugar)
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped candied cherries, maraschino cherries or raisins
3/4 cup half-and-half or milk
1/3 cup oil (not olive oil)
1 egg
Set oven to 375 degrees.
Grease 12 regular-size muffin cups, or line with paper.
In a large bowl, combine flour, 1-3/4 cups milk chocolate morsels, brown sugar, white sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt; stir in the cherries.
In a small bowl, combine the milk, oil and egg, just until blended.
Add the liquid ingredients to the dry ingredients, stir with a wooden spoon JUST until moistened.
Spoon the batter into prepared muffin cups (you should have just enough batter to fill 12 muffin cups).
Sprinkle with the remaining 1/4 cup chocolate morsels.
Bake 18-20 minutes, or until the muffins are golden and baked.
Cool in pan for 10 minutes.
Remove from pan; serve warm if desired or room temperature.

this may sound gross to you, but it is a VERY healthy snack, and great alternative to ice cream.
Get a small container of part skim ricotta and empty it in a bowl. Ad some chopped almonds, sugar substitute (optional), spinkle some of the cocoa, a drop of coconut extract. Whip it all up together and put in the freezer. Take out 15 minutes later and enjoy your frozen treat!

"Pear and chocolate sponge is a delicious gateau which you could serve either as a dessert or for a special afternoon tea."
Original recipe yield: 1 - 8 inch 4 layer cake.
Prep Time:15 MinutesCook Time:25 MinutesReady In:40 MinutesServings:8 (change)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
INGREDIENTS:
3/4 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup castor sugar
3 eggs
1 1/3 cups self-rising flour
2 cups confectioners' sugar
1 cup butter, softened
2 tablespoons baking cocoa
1 tablespoon boiling water, or as needed
1 dash vanilla extract
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
6 canned pear halves
7 walnut halves
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease and line two 8 inch round cake pans with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, cream together 3/4 cup butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Sift the flour into the bowl, and fold it in with a spoon. Divide the mixture evenly between the prepared pans.
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in the preheated oven, until the center of the cakes spring back when lightly touched.
To make the frosting, mix together the confectioners' sugar and 1 cup butter until light and fluffy, at least 5 minutes. Mix the cocoa powder with just enough boiling water to dissolve, and blend it into the sugar mixture along with the vanilla.
To assemble: Split each cake layer into halves horizontally and lay the halves out side by side. Use half of the buttercream, and spread it over 3 of the layers. Sandwich them together with the unfrosted one on the top. Place the cake on a serving plate, and frost the sides and top with the remaining frosting. Press chopped nuts onto the sides of the cake. Arrange pear halves on the top, and decorate with swirls of buttercream and walnut halves.
