i am going to be having a PE test for the army in about 3 weeks and i am heavily working out 4-5 times a week. i am wondering what might help me to recover right before the test (without stopping working out) so that i have enough energy to do a good job. (nutritionally also)

Nothing, slow down, and dont be so concerned, my husband has his PT tests all the time, he always gets a marginal, and it's no big deal. Hes Air Force though, I don't know about the army. Eat carbs, i guess.

I train for triathlons. I stop training 1-2 days before, average time for recovery from intense regimen before a big event.

Eat carbohydrates, such as pasta, this helps build energy stores for endurance.

carry on your workout routine until the week before, then just tone it down a little.
make sure you warm up plenty before the test
eat lots of fresh fruit and veggies and something like porridge for slow released energy
