Spanish is an obvious choice, but ASL, Chinese, Arabic (especially government work) are good too.
Check your local census for the demographics on new immigrants. Here is Saint Louis it's mainly Bosnian/Croation and Chinese. So those would be two good languages.
Mexico makes up 60% of our immigration (legal and non), so there will always be a demand for Spanish
What do you want to do with it? Hospitals need translators for non-English speaking patients. Many doctors speak Spanish, but not Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, Greek, etc.......... Technical jobs often require Chinese, Hindi, Arabic, or Japanese because of where the jobs are...............To zero in on a language that will beneficial to you, talk to people of the industry in which you wish to make use of a language.

From an economic point of view, my guess would be Mandarin and English (obvious reasons). Mandarin because China is growing and economy has yet to peak. Plus cultivating the Chinese market alone will leave any businessman laughing all the way to the bank

English and because of the increase of Mexicans, Spanish.. but I advise young people to learn Chinese as I believe that Chinese will become very important in the future after the Mexicans take over the U.S.
