I wouldn't like one being in my neighborhood but sorry to say there isn't much you can do. If you are in a homeowners community you might bring it to the attention of the committee but you really don't have a right to do anything. Just keep your doors lock and stay away from them.

First off, what have they done to you? If nothing, then leave them the heck alone!! They made a mistake and paid for it and will be paying for it the rest of their life because of people like you. I know first hand how they live, threw heck once they have done their time and got out.Their crime is no different than somebody stealing some thing that belongs to some one else. But I don't hear people complaining about...there is a convicted murderer or arsonists or any other types of criminals living next door. Why is it always the sex offenders you guys pick on? I won't go as far as saying everybody, because everybody don't cause problems! Leave them all alone unless they do something that is out of line! Hope all of you do realize that you can have charges brought against you if you falsely accuse them of something. It's not that they have more rights, they don't, it is called harassment's. Just leave them alone!!

Unfortunately even those types of people have rights. But so do you. I was in the same situation. I live in a rather large community and until one of the children in the neighborhood went missing (he was found), we had no idea we had 16 sex offenders living within a four block radius of us. One of them, right near the elementary school. As you can imagine, a campaign to the city council's office was started and we got nowhere. Then one neighbor got smart. She lived right next door to one of them and put a huge sign on her front lawn that read "PARENTS AND CHILDREN BEWARE, MY NEIGHBOR IS A CHILD PREDATOR". This man actually tried to have the signs removed, but it was her legal right to keep them up. Before we knew it, more and more neighbors had these signs up. I'm not sure at exactly what point this happened, but when I last checked the website, we are now down to three sex offenders in our neighborhood. I understand they have to live somewhere, just not in my neighborhood!

You can't. Even convicted sex offenders deserve to live in peace so long as they're not offending and at no risk to re-offend.

Here are some facts that many people tend to overlook in the hype: Most sex offenders are convicted once and one time only. Of all convicted sex offenders, 95% never re-offend, meaning that only 5% of registered sex offenders go on to commit more sex crimes. These are the ones the media loves to make a big deal over, and in the process make it appear that all RSOs are dangerous predators. Nothing could be further from the truth, but that's the media for you. If the sex registration laws were reasonable, the authorities would be free to ignore the 95% of harmless offenders and focus their attentions on the 5% that are actually a potential threat.

Though many convictions are for sexual assault, rape, and child molestation, far too many convictions are for guys who were in a sexual relationship with a girl in high school and turned 18 before she did, and the parents found out they were having sex and decided to have him charged with statuary rape. Many of these have gone on to marry that girl and raise a perfectly normal family, and are absolutely no threat to society whatsoever, yet they are forced to register as Sex Offenders, making them a target for vigilanties.

This often unfair registration also has a colateral effect on things like property values and insurance rates. Face it, it's not fair for your property taxes to go up because your completely harmless grandfatherly neighbor was caught having sex with his granny of a wife back in 1952 when she was 14 and he was 18.

So don't judge all registered sex offenders by the actions of the few high-profile pedophiles & rapists that the news media loves to drool over. 95% are no more of a threat than you or me or your Great-Aunt Tillie.

Well first off...if he's not hurting anyone & he's done time for the crimes he was found guilty then there's really not much you can do. But if I was you (i'm a parent) I'd make it really difficult for him to live peacefully in MY neighbourhood. Make it uncomfortble for him, make sure all your other neighbours know what he is. But most importantly....MAKE SURE HE'S ACTUALLY GUILTY of being a sex offender. Also there are different levels of sex crimes. If he was 18 & dated a girl who was 15/16 & her parents weren't cool with it, they could charge him, making him a sex offender. So before you start throwing stones...MAKE SURE your information is right!

Well, U could embarass the sh*t outta him.
Late at night, stick a sign in front of his house( stating his offense
U could also go door to door and inform your block and local area
and even have them sign a petition, that simply is letting this
pervert KNOW HE IS BEING WATCHED. And he will know that
his neighbors are very aware of his sex crimes. HE will know to
watch his back. Have your neighbors just use initials and not
their exact addresses either. He doesn't need to know. Put it in
hi mailbox, or tape it to his door. Don't harrass him, just let him
know....you all know. In fact, I would go with the petition/mail thing
Good Going......

It is easier to fight the devil you know than the one you do not know. In another neighborhood there may also be sex offenders... only they have not been identified. Consider yourself lucky.
