Having *any* tooth removed will hurt for a brief period of time but it's a lot better than running around with a bad tooth. This is truly a situation where it's gonna hurt more before it gets better...no pain, no gain.

Good luck. :)

Well, since it's a baby tooth, I don't think a root canal is the best option there. It shouldn't hurt much, as you'll be numbed up so much, but possibly after the numbness wears off, you will feel some pain. If so, take some advil or tylenol, and that should ease the pain. I'm about to have a tooth extracted too, but have to wait until the antibiotics do the job of clearing out the infection, make sure you take those before the extraction, or you could suffer from a worse condition, because the infection wasn't taken care of. Good luck!

Yes. I would advice if it is hurtting badly to use orgel. Also take a needle and pop the absess it will help take the pain away. and it wont hurt to much when the dentist removes it. Oddly enough my best friend and I had the exact same tooth pulled on the same day. How crazy is that.

You'll need to take antibiotics for a few days before you can have it removed. The dentist will prescribe something like Keflex. Take every one of them as prescribed.

When it's time to remove the tooth, he will give you some pain killers so it won't hurt.

Follow the dentist's instructions about aftercare so you don't end up with a painful dry socket.

If you have an abcess, you have to be on antibiotics, before the doctor can do the extraction. The reason why, is because the injection will not work if there is an infection present. When you do go to get it out, they will numb you so you should not feel pain just a lot of pressure. If your that scared ask your doctor about nitrious gas. It will make you relax so you dont care whats going on. Kinda like being drunk.

I had a lower wisdom tooth that became abcessed. I opted for anethsia for the surgury. I had to see a maxilofacial surgeon. After, it hurt for about a week, ask for a rinsing syringe. It is like a baby medicine dropper syringe that is curved @ the end. You use warm water and flush the empty socket to remove food debris. Otherwise it festers and will really hurt. If they offer clove strips, don't be fooled. the taste does not go away, and it festers after 8 hours and hurts still.

Before you are quick to get rid of your tooth... why not try getting a root canal????

Yes it will hurt, but at least you will keep your much valuable tooth... you don't want to start pulling teeths before you try to save them.... a toothless person is not a pretty sight, nor sexy... .

Please ask your dentist what will be the best option for you... and don't worry about the pain... they will knock you out and you won't feel a thing... and by the way, you should make an appointment PRONTO!!!! (right away)...

I hope it all works out for you... good luck!!

Removing it will hurt a lot less than the pain you're going through now. They'll give you anesthesia so you won't feel anything and good pain meds afterward while you recover. Don't worry!
