Why are ballons tie in between two tower-size Antenna wires along the freeway?

Are these ballons there for a reason?

Yes, otherwise, those wires would be completely invisible to planes who might have to fly that low, like when the police use them to check speed, or, if there is an airport nearby, ooor, somebody is checking the gasline from the air..

They are there to warn fliers that the lines are there. They aren't balloons but plastic spheres. You will also see them on telephone and power wires at the ends of emergency runways used for small private aircraft.

Chuck has it 1/2 right, it is for helicopters as well, they tend to fly lower than planes unless the plane is decending for landing.
