Please read in full. For the past maybe two to three years that I can remember I have had a pain in my lower back and to my right side. It is lower than the kidneys and I have had tests done for kidney or bladder infections. I have never had any further testing done as I have no insurance and wouldn't even know where to start.
Anyways, sometimes I won't feel the pain for months and there are times when it feels as if someone is stabbing my with a knife or it burns like fire. Sometimes it is a more constant dull pain. I can't think of anything that triggers it to be worse than other times. What could this be?
P.S. The only thing I can remember around the time I started feeling this pain was I was pushing my motorcyle out of the garage by standing next to it, it started to tip over and I grabbed it and was leaning and straining to pull it back up. Could this be a pulled muscle and why would it last so long and flare up sometimes?

sure sounds like a spinal condition....sounds like a sliped disc or even a herniated disc in you lumbar region....... any numbness in legs, feet, or arms, fingers,,, ever?
i would suggest going to a back specialist,,,, and no, not a chiropractor.
ADDITION: numbness is a sure sign of a spinal problem,,,,
something is putting pressure on nerves back there....
shouldnt be to serious ,,,seeing as it doesnt hurt all the time,,,
but you wont know untill you get to a oerthopedic or neuro-specialist....... best of luck to you.

Thye burning sounds like a pulled muscle or possibly pinched nerve. I would suggest taking Aleve or Motrin to help pain. And as soon as you can get insurance have the Dr order an MRI to see what for sure is going on.

It sounds like your sciatic nerve is messed up. I was running a bath for the kids and all of a sudden I couldn't bend back up. I went to the ER and they gave me a shot and some anti-inflammatories. If you don't ask for x-rays, it should only cost about $300 in the ER, at least here in KY.

Maybe you have sciatica. It hurts your lower back, buttocks and down the thigh. It comes and goes, and sometimes the pain is so bad, you want to scream. It has something to do with the discs in your back, you may have damaged them moving the motorcycle.
Maybe a chiropractor can help.

I know it's an icky question, but have you ever had any problems with your bowels? I have Irritable Bowel Syndrome, but it's under control with diet. If I misbehave and eat something I shouldn't, I feel pain in my lower back as you describe - it's my colon when it's inflamed. Try eating Activa or an active yogurt culture yogurt every day and see if it helps. God bless!

Maybe a pinched nerve or a disc problem. See a neurologist or othopedic specialist.
