If they were ''the one'', they wouldnt have gotten away, you, they, or fate would have brought you two back together instead of letting either or you get away ;) ... what's meant to be, is meant to be.

Is there A “one”? She must have passed me when I was with someone else! I have been friends, dated and known one for over 40 years. In the long run I guess she is the one who has always been there, who I could always turn to, and the one who I truly love. She didn't get away, but we have parted Many times

the first time, not by choice, he died.
The second time around He let ME go because he's AFRAID of commitment and can't be with someone on the 'same level' as himself. In other words, you should see what he's with now! BARF!(and she smokes like a chimney!)Our mutual friends and some family don't understand why he let me go. My 14 yr daughter says "Oh well mom,his loss!"

Almost till i sat down and really pictured my life withuot him, I realized that he was a gift from gods heart, someone who cared a great deal about me, someone who protected my heart i would be foolish to give him to someone else so i told him that he was my love forever never let soemone get away if you know they are the one and if you did just go back to them

Unfortunately, yes. Did you let "the one" get away?

Yes I did. My High School sweetie. He joined the Navy, and I moved on. We met again later in years and became good friends.

I looked up "the one" on the internet the other day (after 30 years), and in her picture she looked like someone's grandmother.

No, but I have regrets that I didn't when I should have. If you get my drift. I still fantasize, but that is okay. Maybe if I would have done something about it I wouldn't be thinking about it sooo much now.

No, I threw her back when I found out that she was only pretty on the outside & a gold digger on the inside.
