Take lots of notes in Spanish class. Ask the teacher, or someone who's really good at spanish for help if you need it. Don't be afraid to ask. Get a english converted to spanish dicitonary to look up words. When studying for tests or quizzes, try having someone writing spanish words on notecards and having the english word on the back. Such as, the dishwasher in spanish and you have to try to put the word where it belongs or define it. Study a lot, but not too much that you stress yourself out. Look online for websites that will help. Rewrite and review your notes everyday so that their in your head and keep all worksheets and previous quizzes if they will help you prepare for your future quiz or test. Ask your teacher what kind of stuff will be asked on tests so that you can prepare. Tests can make up a big part of your grade. But don't ignore the worksheets and homework. If your homework if graded and you need help, ask. Good luck with spanish!

Immersion---watch Spanish TV, listen to Spanish radio, read Spanish newspapers, find yourself some buddies that are bilingual & ask them to speak Spanish with you, etc. Cheapest way to go & no real "tutor" involved. You can also check your local library for ressources.
