Was the macaroni still firm or mushy after freezing?

I think you'll get the best results if you only par-cook the macaroni or pasta before you freeze it. It will suck up the sauce and I can't guarantee the quality once it comes out of the freezer...but give it a try on a single batch of left-overs. Freeze it for about a week or so and then defrost. Defrost carefully and watch microwaving it especially with creamy sauces. They have a tendency to "break" or curdle...ewww. Have a good one! ;)

I have frozen many pasta dishes.

Usually about 3/4 baked cook and place directly in the freezer and when it is still frozen place in the
oven to finish (also I generally micro on 50% just to take the
chill off - NOT to defrost.)

Always has worked for me.

good luck

I would partially cook it and then freeze it but make sure you have enough cheesy sauce in there otherwise it will be sort of mushy nad bake in oven when defrosted don't microwave!

its not great... best thing is to defrost slowly in a VERY cool oven before you reheat properly. so when its defrosted you want to drain off any melted watery stuff that's on it, add a splash of milk, then cover and microwave on medium power until its very hot again. its the best way to do it - not fantastic but itll work and its still edible.

Yes, of course. What do you think Souffer's does? It needs to have a sauce of some sort on it...loose noodles don't freeeze too well in home freezers.
