Decide on your ideal weight and multiply that by 10 if you are moderately active and that is your ideal caloric intake per day. So if you want to weigh 110 again you should eat 1100 calories per day. For every 3500 calories you eliminate you will lose 1 pound. At 175 lbs,you would maintain that weight by eating 1750 calories per day so if you cut down 650 calories per day you would theoretically lose about 1 lb every 5-6 days. So you can expect to be down to your former weight in about 1 year.

On avarage people intake 2000.
I might add that if you are nursing you should be eating very good foods.
Edit: I agree with Evelyn.
Calories aren't really the matter, as long as you're using them.
What you eat is also a great variable.
You could eat 1200 per day, but if more than half are from fat, you won't be losing any weight.
Like Evelyn said: don't worry about the calories.
Just eat healthy and do your cardio.
Hope you lose all that extra weight!
Good luck.

um, walk a lot in a day or even better bcycle 5- 10 miles a day if possible and probably have 1200 calories in a day. I heard that this kind of fat is the hardest to loose. Good Luck!

In YOUR case.. I would try to keep the calories down to 2,000 or less a day for a while.. I suppose you are exercising and are on a proper diet.. YES? Then to lose more, try to cut down to 1,500 or even 1,200 calories per day

approx. 1500 to 1600 to lose, 1600 to 1800 to stay where you're at, and over to gain. This depends on your height, metabolism etc. But it's just a ballpark estimate. Don't forget your nutrients.
'nuff said?
