I beleive that there is a local phrase in Greek.
Phonetically, "Vro mis menna, sovra goff"
This roughly means "go away, you have stinky pants"
Hence "It's totally pants" or whatever refers to something undesirable.
My printer is utterly pants at the moment. Need a new pair.

The phrase in British in origin and relates to pants as underwear rather than as trousers like in America.
