Ninjas are all gone. Sorry.
But it is most likely for the best since they were underhanded assassins.
And if there are any around ( which I highly doubt) none of them would ever reveal there presence.
The only ninja around now-a-days are either wanna-be's, in movies, in video games or in comic books.

I Believe a Ninja in todays world would be what we consider a martial arts Master. So Yes I would say we still have the Legacy of the Ninja alive and well in todays world. I actually had the Privilege of seeing a master in person performing He was an 8th degree Black belt.

Ninjas were highly skilled assasins in the feudal days of Asia, and while some of the techniques they employed is true to an effect, they were mostly given the "boogeyman mentality" to scare the kids at night and a mythical figure sensibility to them as dracula and the wolf man were given in the early days of storytelling.
But their art remains today, and in a way I guess you could say they still exsist, but not in the ways movies, comics and stories from the past portray them.
Stephen K Hayes is a 9th Dan in one of the various Ninjitsu arts, I can't remember the name offhand (hopefully spidertiger might know more on that), but the art is still practiced.

NO! Ninja are a old fashion way of doing things. Most of their technique basically disappear along with most of japan military during WWII. All that are remain is very few of their technique that has passed onto japan law enforce and some of what Masaaki Hatasumi know. However Masaaki Hatasumi doesn't teach Ninjitsu technique.

No, contemporary "ninja" practitioners teach what they suppose historical ninja did. According to Hatsumi sensei some mysterious person taught it to him, so you have to take his word for it on the historical continuity.
A lot about one supposes about ninja come from Japanese mass culture-storytellers, bunraku puppet shows, kabuki, etc. That's why ninja are depicted as wearing traditional Japanese stagehand/puppeteer uniforms with the black mask.

Nope. there is no more ninjas because there is no need for ninjas. WE have technology. BUT there is ONE ninja left. His name is Masaaki Hatsumi, they call him the "last living ninja" because he is the last living ninja. He is the 34th Grandmaster of the Bujinkan Ryu (School). So there is ONE left! dont trust me? ask any martial artist that study Ninjutsu today, they will tell ya.

No.
Although some martial artist claim they know of the art of ninjitsu and practice it.
Ninjas are no different from the US Navy SEALS, Marine Force Recon, Green Berets, Army Rangers and the British SAS. Only the technology and weaponry are different but the objectives remain the same.
