Urinary Tract Infections

If you've noticed that your dog has recently been whining to go out more often, he may be suffering from a urinary tract infection (UTI). In addition to frequent urination, the following signs may indicate a UTI:

Straining, pain or difficulty urinating
Blood in the urine
Foul smelling urine
Urination in inappropriate places
Tender lower abdomen (in the area of the bladder)
Fever
Lethargy

My dog had several urinary tract infections when she was a puppy, she would try to go and nothing would come out , she would whine at the door it the middle of the night several x a night and i would take her out and she would just sit there and try to pee,the vet gave her antibiotics and she would be fine for a while ,thank god she grew out of that.

I have an English Bulldog and whenever she develops a urinary tract infection she starts urinating inside the house, often times right in front of me. I believe it is her way of telling me that she is ill and needs help.

1) Scoots around on its butt.
2) Hesitates urinating
3) Foul odor
4) Licks itself down their alot.

Best bet is to take the dog to the doctor. My puppy get them a lot, and the vet has given her medication that helps clear up the condition fast.

Is the dog having trouble peeing? Or is there blood in the urine?

If in doubt, let the vet find out.

Good luck!
