I let my neighbor's kids play with my kitten today for a few hours and he came home with a little cut on his tongue to the side. Looks like he might have bite it. Now the kids are great kids and I've known them for quite a while and I don't think they would ever intentionally hurt the kitten but I've never seen a cat bite his own tongue before either. Do they ever do that?
Also, if there anything I can do to ease his pain, he still eats but I can tell the tongue is bothering him a little. I gave him some ice to lick, any other ideas?

thank you very much so far for the answers and I glad of the answers I have so gotten so far. They are nice kids but you never know. Overprotective I guess.
