Protein drinks aren't a magical elixir that'll make you grow muscles.

They are simply convenient forms to get a little extra protein in your diet. For athletes or bodybuilders, they require extra protein to repair damaged muscle tissue. It also, stokes one's metabolism in the fact that protein takes longer to digest than carbs.

However, needlessly consuming protein can / will lead to weight gain. It's just like any other food source --- too many calories = weight gain.

If you are an athlete or work out heavily and feel you need extra protein in your diet, go for it. Generally, ithough, f you eat meat (of any type) you are probably getting enough protein as it is or if you follow a healthy diet to begin with, you probably don't need them.

well protein shakes are exactly what they say. Protein. Proetin is what makes you more full and also gives you the energy you need. The more protein something has, the better. But you have to watch out, because some have a high sugar rate and can eat your teeth very fast.

Protein drinks or bars can fill you up and give you more energy so it's better to snack on it then on chips and chocolate and fatty fast foods... or you can snack on dried fruit, nuts etc...
