...have a problem applying that to our deceased loved ones?

According to the Bible, it is no less true for the dead than the living.

So why do you not acknowledge that you are asking people to worship a god who, according to your scripture (Revelations 21:8), sent their deceased loved ones to Hell?

I agree with Coleen. Hell or Sheol is the common grave of mankind. Did you know that Jesus was in Sheol?

I guess I am wondering why you spend a lot of time in Revelations, there a lot of good books in the Bible to read, start at the beginning to get to the end.

I personally don't get how the first Christians in a region or family (say, the one Christian in a long line of Muslims or Hindus) could reconcile that. They'd have to believe their whole family was hellbound.

Look, say there were two hallways and one led to a gas chamber while the other led to a party house. God wants you to come to the party house (heaven), but he can't make you. So sadly, it is their own fault for walking into the gas chamber (hell).

I don't have a problem with it. But it does hurt to say ' ____ is going to or is in hell.' again read the scriptures before that. It is all in the choice you make. God didn't send them there they chose not to believe in salvation. It's not His fault. But it does grieve Him so. Just like it grieves us to know that if our loved ones don't trust God and believe in Jesus ... well... you know. I just don't want to make that confession. Life and death are in the power of the tongue. I choose to speak life and I speak life into my family. By faith I say that they are believers of Christ. I will always trust Him... to the death. If they choose not to, I know that I tried to be a witness and a light to everyone around me. I can't make some one believe but I can give them the love of Christ.
He is my life and for Him I choose to be a witness and win people for Him. I'm not perfect... far from it. But His mercies are new every morning and his love for me and you endures for ever.

I simply state what I believe. I don't "threaten" hell or try to scare anyone into believing. Jesus did neither of those things. If I am ask about heaven or hell, I state my beliefs.
