OK, my room is a rectangular room, with the ceiling slanted then flat at the top, if that makes sense, Anways, the ceiling and two short walls are white, and the two long walls are royal blue. Also, the closet's white. All I know for sure is that I want my room more colorful, inviting and awesome! I know for sure that I'm painting vertical lime green stripes over the blue walls, but beyond that, I don't know what I want to do. I was thinking of havning the main color scheme blue, lime green and perhaps pink, but I need ideas of an awesome looking room! if you could help, thatnks...

k. i cannot help you with colors, coz i think blue and green are absolutely perfect! (my room is rectangular as well, opposite walls are white, and the other two are bright green. i have dark blue decor.) but i can tell you how to make perfectly straight lines! okay. don't just put tape down and paint, coz that leaves a mess and nicks once you remove the tape. put down the tape, and put caulk down on the edge that you're going to be painting, and make sure you put some on the wall. don't put it on really thick, just thin enough so that if you were to piant on it, it wouldnt smudge. right, so paint asap, and remove the tape slowly but right away. if you leave the tape there for more than ten minutes, then the caulk has a tendency to favor the tape and stick to it, and bring the paint off as well when you peel off the tape!

wait. i can help you with colors. might i suggest you put polka dots on the ceiling? that would be waaaay awesome. i think if you really want pink on the walls, then you put a thin stripe of it every once and a while, but on the ceiling the polka dots could be mainly pink with some orange and yellow (and maybe red). why polka dots? coz with the way im picturing your ceiling, then it would look awesome and be a really cool illusion sorta thing.

dont wanna paint the ceiling? then i think you could put thin rainbow stripes on the white walls. that would be really cool.

hope this helps!

You might extend the royal blue with the lime stripes up onto the slanted part of the ceiling and do the two short walls and the flat part of the ceiling in the third color.

You are probably going to need at least two coats of the lime to cover the darker blue. I suggest, that for the first coat, you use a primer tinted as close to the lime as you can get it. It will help give you better coverage and you will save a little money too.

Whatever you choose to do, have a blast. Happy painting!

I saw on a design show once, where they had a slanted ceiling, and they painted from where the top of the short ceiling was (around the entire room) down one color, and did the tall part above that line a shade of white, and it really accented the architecture. Made the room feel more even, yet brought in that interest. I wish I could explain it better. GOod Luck.

Try using bright primary colors. Unless you have large windows with a lot of light, dark colors work best in very small amounts up high. Use can use them to make the ceiling appear taller, with a narrow border along the top of the walls. If you get really creative....You can stencil a design on the border.
It will probably take several coats to cover the royal blue. Use a good quality primer formulated to cover in one coat, but don't be surprised if it takes two.

The type of decor you like would be helpfull, but lime green and a medium brown color. But stripes are out, circles are it.
A few mts ago one of my sisters moved into her first apt.and wanted me to go her kitchen,I was gonna do light beidge walls with red circles here and there on two walls and id found a wall sconce made out of three welded together circles at our local good will store painted it red,two weeks latter at that same store there was another just like it---cool i bought it and painted it red,no kidding--a few weeks after that another one but it was a big circle with three smaller ones inside welded together.I snoozzed and lost out on that one couse i waited for it to get cheeper it was gone a few days latter.
My sister also has a few antuiqe black glass vases and dishes that she displays, and some other cool odds and ends that pulled together nicely.Go with acouple of diff sizes, not a lot.find a shandileir with circles hanging from it or make one.Find old cool lamps, maybe kind of retro or round go to garage sales or resale shops and thrift shops and good will stores.
Have fun,i wish i were there!!!!!!!!!!!
Now circle stuff is every where, that always happens to me.
Dont tell anyone but i think those old brown orange owls are gonna be big next, mabe those old wooden spoons that usta go in kitchens will be back. But i personally like what like wether its in or out do your own thing!!!
ooohhhh turquoise and browns----i cant stop.Flea markets, auctions, esstate sales, ive even got stuff out of others garabage, dont telll!!!!!

You need a mural. Campbell soup cans and the oat Quaker have already been done, but the rest of the world is up for grabs.
