Hehe when I use to do Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, wrestler was one of the hardest person to grapple with. I use to be a wrestler and even on the first night people have hard time to grapple with me (but I got tapped out a lot and didn't tap anyone out until about three weeks later). The main reason it's hard to grapple with them is because wrestler are the best at positioning and focus on getting on top and stay on the top (due to nature of sport) So this make everything more complex because they know how to grapple and fight on ground so they basically have experience already. So when they add other grappling style, they basically use Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to support their weakness. So they lose so many of their weakness that it make them extremely difficult to beat.

Part of our training. I wrestled in junior high, high school, and college (over 12 years). When I started training with the Gracie Academy, trying to avoid (or getting out of) the locks and grapples was not as difficult for me compared to the other folks I started with. It is quite similar in principle. Because of this and my experience in wrestling, it was also easier for me to grapple my opponent into a lock/hold.

Best Example: Matt Hughes (old greco-roman wrestler and UFC champ)

Yes wrestlers will take you down and stay on top, but they don't really hurt you very much until they learn some submissions. If you can get on top and get them on their back they are uncomfortable on their back and they will freak out and end up giving up their back to you and then a rear naked choke is easy. They are tough man they will give you a run for your money that's for sure.

I study Hapkido which also uses ground fighting, and yes a wrestler is one of the most difficult people to work with in submissions and getting them to tap out or submit, because that's their main focus, to get their opponent's shoulders on to the mat, so they have to work much harder at their win, where we don't have to where submissions and joint locks bring an easier end to the match. so of course it's gonna be much more difficult engaging a wrestler in a match.

Definitely...Especially after they learn submission defense. The one thing I did learn was to keep moving against a wrestler. The more you stay still, the easier time they seem to have.

The best you can do now is to learn from this experience and be a better ju-jitsu practitioner.

It's ok to be overcome by a superior opponent as long as you become a better individual afterwards. You'll improve.

Peace.
