I get "caller unknown" or "blank" or "Wisconsin call".

so how does a telemarketer have the option to sidestep a service that they charge for?

That's just one reason why I don't buy caller-id or the other crap the phone companies try to include in my plan.

To at least give you some choice in the matter. When I get a blocked call on my business line I answer "(name of business) does not accept blocked calls. Please unblock your number and call back and we will be glad to give you service." Seems to work.

I've found most of them are telemarketers anyway.

then there is no purpose...and there must be a way to get around it; there are always methods of circumventing any known process or method
