First of all....YOU ARE NOT HUGE! Don't degrade yourself like that. Second....It's not all about exercise. You have to burn more calories than you eat....So, TRY to cut down on junk food....eat a lot of veggies and do your treadmill. Eventually, 30 minutes on the treadmill is going to be easy for you....when it is, do 35 minutes. AND!! Start SLOW....maybe start with 15 minutes or 20 minutes.....No matter what, it's going to take a lot of time to take off the weight in a healthy manner. BUT! If you do it right, it'll stay off. Losing weight is a total lifestyle change. Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Everyone is different when it comes to weight loss, but I'm also 5'8" and it has taken me about 2 years to lose 46lbs. I'm still keeping it off and maintaining right now, but I plan on losing more very soon. I'm trying to get my weight/body fat down to start competing in figure/fitness competetions. If you're only walking on a treadmill for 30 minutes a day it may take you more than 2 years to get to an ideal weight. You need more than that, but don't push too hard until you are ready for more. Walking is a good start, but eventually you want to try more challenging forms of cardio and for about 45-60 minutes a day for about 5 days a week. Then, start lifting weights too. I lift and I love it. I have burned more fat in the past month than I have in this past year alone. Also, make sure you're eating a healthy balanced diet of whole grains, lean proteins, fresh fruits and veggies and low fat dairy. Good luck!

Here's the deal
Lose weight now. You need to work your whole body, the treadmill will only help a bit but you have a whole body that needs immediate attention. There are plenty of shows on tv that you could work out with that deals with the whole body. Start out with an easy routine and increase the challenges as you get your stamina up. Start today. Walking is good for your heart, get out of the house and walk the block, after a week or two, increase the distance, keep it up and don't stop. It takes a month, two months or more to see a lot of difference but the subtle differences are amazing. Don't watch your weight on a scale, it will fluctuate because as you build muscle, which weighs more than fat, your weight will change back and forth. As you exercise, the same will happen. But you'll notice your pants will fit better, your clothes, not so tight, your shoes will even become more comfortable. Eating is big when trying to lose weight. Stay away from fatty foods, empty calories, late night snacks or meals. Stop eating at 7pm, period. Drink lots and lots and lots of water, give up sugary drinks completely. Theres more to losing weight than just a treadmill. You ask how long it would take with a treadmill, honestly, if thats all the effort you would put into your wanting to lose weight, it'll take forever. But all is not lost, people lose weight every day, a lot of them bigger than you. Its a life style change you need to make. Don't waver from it, stay with it forever. Salads, vegetable soups, non sugared cereals, no breads, cakes, cookies, etc. Give up fatty snacks, loads of carbs. Find a show or a tape, DVD set, whatever you like, mix it up for sure and just every day from now on give your precious body reprieve and exercise with one show at least. As you become stronger you can increase to a show and a half and then graduate to two shows. It works, you just have to be determined, that is the key. It is not impossible or else we'd be a world of obese, unhealthy people and we're not, cause people make changes. You can, and don't ever forget it. Just say no to crappy food and yes to healthy eating and exercise for the rest of your life. You'll live longer and feel better and be an inspiration to many. good luck and stay with it. Now go outside and walk with a bottle of water. don't wait, start today.

First of all, you're on the right track, exercise is a great way to get your metabolism working. The proper foods also help. Stay away from the junk food and your stomach and health will love you for it. When you go back to it, (hopefully never) you will not enjoy it as much. Drink lots of water stay away from sugars, and carbs and large servings of meals... you will get into this habit if you use self talk, and you will see a difference not only in your weight but in the way of thinking and feeling. 30 days should make quite a difference but make it a gradual change, if you loose it to rapidly you may revenge yourself with self-pitty. Remember, over weigh leads to diabetes, then you will have no choice on what you can or cannot eat. Use smaller servings, let your stomach shrink and develop the habit of snacking on health foods instead of junk foods. ... Good Luck!

Depends on how fast you are going b/c that determines how many calories are burned during the 30 minutes. Your treadmill should tell you that. Also, depends on how much your eating and how many calories you are taking in. This is not so black and white... alot of factors come into play. Talk to your doctor or a physical fitness instructor at your local gym.

It took me all summer to lose it (from the authentic of would to the authentic of August, I lost somewhat over 10 pounds). earlier that, i change into reliably hitting 20-25 pounds lost over 3 months.
