Traditionally, the man asks a woman to mary him. Not that that is politically correct...you can ask him. It would be better if you didn't formally ask him. Hint it to him that you are ready. If he is also, he will ask.

When you have the feeling that he is the one you want to spend your life with go for it...... My fiance and i talked about getting married, and I asked him, so if you want to ask, a little hint, make sure he will say yes, but go with your heart.... that is the only thing that matters,,,,,, as far as the ring... i'm not sure, but since i proposed, we went out and bought my engagement ring and his wedding band, he wears it all the time... but it is definately up to you what you do with the ring....

It is up to you on whether or not to ask him. First you should see if he is on the same page. Talk about what he thinks about the future. Ask him when he sees himself married. You can tell by his answer if he is thinking sooner or later. And then, either you can ask him or you can wait for the ring.

You can ask him. Talk about your future and make sure that you are on the same page... However, I think its more romantic for the man to ask the woman.
