I've installed a game, and there is this error message:

Autorun.exe-Ordinal Not Found

"The ordinal 31317 could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll."

Now I can't play the game. This has never happended to my old Windows 98 computer, and I am currently using Windows XP.

What does this mean, and how do I fix it?

It sounds like your hard drive is jacked. You must replace Hard drive or whip it out and try again!!!

It's a nasty problem and hard to fix. Did you install Windows XP on an older computer? If you did, look for an online site that lists all the problems you can have by doing that. I'm not upgrading my 2001 computer from Windows ME until I get a new computer with Windows XP installed on it. Then you don't get those problems.

find the executable for the program, ie, the .exe file, likely called gamename.exe. Right click on it, then choose Compatibility Tab, and choose the appropriate mode . . . but bear in mind some games simply won't run under XP, especially SP2. Good luck
