Why worry about getting to heaven if you won't be you when you get there?

You'll still be you. Your mind will be cleansed so you forget the bad things. You won't need to worry about bad stuff when you're in heaven so what's the point in even remembering it.

Who says I won't be me? I'm a loving, kind, human being. That is a huge part of me and that will get me into heaven. I am compassionate. That will get me into heaven. I'm an athlete, but I haven't found any part of the Bible that says I can't play ball in heaven. If there isn't a hoop there, I'll make one. Just because my loved ones on this earth may not make it to heaven doesn't mean I won't enjoy eternal life. There are no worries in heaven. That doesn't mean my mind is "wiped" of anything but worries.

It may be that heaven, like space, as some famous person once said of space, is not only stranger than we imagine, but stranger than we CAN imagine. If the collective hopes and goodness of humankind are garnered there, my sense of adventure and wonder is piqued. Let's go there for the hell of it.

whoever said your mind would be wiped out?
in heaven, God will wipe away every tear from one's eyes.
The happiness makes one's experiences on earth seem very very far. Have you experienced being so happy you forgot other things? If you havent, poor you you havent been happy. It would be about God in heaven, not about me or anybody else.

Because of Jesus you get into heaven. Your sins are gone but you are still you. Why? Do you think going to heaven means you become a robot.:)

How do you know that your mind will be wiped? You'll be different. Yeah. You'll be on a spiritual level. Your "arms" will have no elbow joints. You'll still have a memory though.

Excellent Excellent question.

But since there is no heaven, there's nothing to worry about.
Maybe that mind wiping is really just death - long cold death.

Doesn't sound nice or fair, does it? I think a lot of that is people trying to think their beliefs through and be comforting...and failing.
