A computer was something on TV
From a science fiction show of note
A window was something you hated to clean
And ram was the cousin of a goat
Meg was the name of my girlfriend
And gig was a job for the nights
Now they all mean different things
And that really Mega bites
An application was for employment
A program was a TV show
A cursor used profanity
And a keyboard was a piano
Compress was what you did to garbage
Not something you did to a file
And if you unzipped in public
You'd be in jail awhile
Log on was adding wood to the pile
Hard drive was a bad trip on the road
A mouse pad was where a mouse lived
And back-up happened to your commode
Cut you did with a poket knife
Paste you did with glue
A web was a spider's home
A virus was the flu
I'll stick to my pad and paper
And the memory in my head
I hear nobody's been killed in a computer crash
But that when it happens they'll wish they were dead.

this really shows you how the world has changed so much and all these words we used for everyday things now have completely different meanings....imagine how hard it must be for an elderly person using a computer for the first time....just something to think about

It's not a joke because it is a list of words that meant one thing and now mean something else. It is not funny nor is it supposed to be, where as jokes are always supposed to be funny.
