Since Windows XP is your operating system, you would have to reformat the hard drive, or delete the partition that XP is on. This would leave you with NO operating system and no programs to run unless you have another operating system installed. Proceed at your own risk as you will not be able to access any data that is on that partition if you decide to delete the partition. If you just decide to remove all XP programs, you would still need another OS to run.

If you upgraded from a previous OS (not Win98) you can do an uninstall. I think it is in the Add/Remove programs.

But what are you trying to do? Windows XP is a fairly stable system. What OS are you going to use?

Format the hard drive. You can use a different operating system. For example, if you install Linux, it will usually format your hard drive before installing. Another way is to use a Windows boot disk, a floppy disk, to boot to a DOS prompt. At the DOS prompt, type FDISK. It's a disk utility you can use to delete disk partitions. That's what I would do. I supposed you could just use the format command.

The easiest way is to format your drive and install a new os. It's clean and a fresh copy of the os.
