I know what you mean, One day I got a violation for not an answer or a question, and then that same day I reported a sick question and yahoo did nothing about it. It is really frustrating, but what can we do about it?. : (

I personally do report obscene "questions". Having said that, I've never reported anyone for "not a question or answer" alone. As I understood it, Yahoo has to have it reported before doing anything - so if you see something you think is inappropriate, report it!
In an open forum such as this, its hard to police and so Yahoo rely on people to 'snitch'. I can understand this, so I guess I don't feel as outraged. Then again, I haven't received a violation yet. So, if we all report the 'nasties', we can hopefully clean it up a little around here.

I could be wrong but from what I've seen and guessed, when a user reports abuse and categorizes it, Yahoo automatically sends an email informing the person that they've been reported. Another thing I've noticed is that it really doesn't accomplish anything to report abuse because if the offender has their account suspended then all they have to do is create a new ID and they're right back at it.

Well one of the categories of abuse is "not a question or an answer." I don't think you're being targeted. I agree with you that the filth should stop and maybe it would if more people would just report them instead of answering their foul questions. I don't need points that badly.

Yes Im very mad at this process they have adapted in the way they are targeting just a certain type of people to harrass...They ought to impliment a filter of some sorts to screen out undesireable language and such.

Yahoo actually has a language filter, it's just that people get around it. You are free to report abuse just like any other person here by clicking the report abuse icon in the lower right part of their question or answer.

I understand your frustration, especially since you also lose points. I'm sorry that happened to you.
I see no logic at all to why yahoo gives out violations. I guess whoever was being the hall monitor was having a bad day.'

Since Yahoo! can't check every question, they are relying on you to find the inappropriate ones and report them so they can take action.
It's funny, when I was doing traffic I often heard "Why are you here picking on me for a minor violation? Why aren't you out catching criminals?" Later in my career I arrested a burglar in the act. Guess what he said? "Why are you picking on me? Why aren't you out watching traffic violators?"

I have rec'd e-mail notifications due to the fact that my statement wasn't an answer as well. This is very irritating too.. I am outraged that we get these kind of e-mails and they removed my answer... Why don't they remove the vulgar questions?

Actually I believe they may have targeted you because you may be on a "watch list" because of your normal internet activity... I too see some answers or questions that are inappropriate but MOST people on here should be of age? Sorry for your trouble...
