for the disbelief in a secondary resourse. We have nothing but the word of priests who lived 2000 years after the teachings and miracles of Christ. Shouldn't god send us another sign to lead us on the true path, or must we blindly follow some religion because we were told so from a gullible childhood?

TJMiler, I just can't get myself to believe in this secondary resource, just because it's written doesn't make it so, plus the inclusion of unicorns and huge pottery plated lobsters makes me believe this source is less reliable.

What do we make of a God who hasn't shown any obvious sign of concern for those He calls His children in the last 2000 years? If I could answer that, I probably wouldn't be agnostic.

We are told in Matthew 4:7:
Jesus answered him, "It is also written: 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'
We ARE given many signs documented in the New Testament and a true path; just because it happened before you were born does not mean it did not occur. Remember John 3:16 is the key:
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Notice the word 'perish' meaning that God does not send us to hell... we as people have the information and it's all about the chioces we make. It is our choices that will lead us to everlasting life or hell.

Here - I'm just going to give my own philosophy on life and religion. I believe in the possibility of everything and have absolute faith in nothing. Don't be so concerned with signs. No reason to follow any specific religion, if it doesn't help you be a better person. I have always had trouble with the fact that we are to either follow the path that our parents chose for us or to chose a religion already in place. Religions have been "invented" throughout the centuries when new beliefs came along. Why is it wrong to believe different from the ones that have been "designed" for us already. As long as you are a good person, you will be fine!

I believe that god or for that matter gods recognize and they script a new era.
we see the new planets far from our own.
Perhaps the early acclimation of earthlings to their environment, by way of social interaction negates that the rules established during that time, e.g. Code of Hammurabi, Maccabees, and punitive or vindictive self preservation were just means to survive. We, as a planet, have not progressed too far from that viewpoint as we accept a media bolstered reinforcement of national policy as a means to justify our existance or preservation. In time perhaps a lesson of the quality that led people to jot down the early exchanged narratives during those technologically barren times may leave a media trying to supplant germ terrorism or environmental terrorism as a means to hide the irresponsible demeanor by which our global leaders will sooner or later have to own up to what they are indeed leaving behind. It is not gullible to be a child or an elderly person. The latter demographic group is innocent but a voice to be reckoned with and if you think the government doesn't recognize it because certain secretaries can, in your face, shatter your dreams of say fighting a prepared war, your feeling of powerlessness or helplessness is sorely mistaken. Believe in your voice and let cosmic providence deal with the rest. To end in a socially conscious view do you think that aliens that were claimed to visit us moderately prior to the great glitter and awe of atomic and nuclear testing may not be too interested in us due to their consideration of our planet as global terrorists. I'd like to see the trigger happy religious fanatics of all ends of the world explain that. Or better yet just listen to CNN and see if anyone brings this into context. I'd be very interested in seeing how the War of the World will finger point at the most 'obvious' culpable demographic group responsible for what T.S. Elliott and Morpheous depicted as a media painted wasteland. peace!

I can't believe in a God who would send people to Hell.
Hell was originally created for Satan and his angels. In the future it will contain those who join Satan in rejecting God. If you reject God's provision for the forgiveness of your sins, then you will join the Devil who rejected God from the beginning. Is that what you want?
Could you believe in a God who would become a human, suffer at the hands of humans, and be killed by them, all so that His death could be the payment for their sins? That is extremely loving. God is saving people who deserve to go to Hell - and we all deserve that. Remember that the same God that sends people to Hell also died for them. If they reject what God has provided, then what is God left to do? He would have to judge them.
Whether you believe in something or not does not change the fact of its existence. Jesus spoke often of Hell (Matt. 25:41-46; Mark 9:47-48; Luke 16:19-31), and warned us so we would not go there. Would you say Jesus didn't know what He was talking about?
Are you implying that it is unjust for God to send people to Hell? If so, then you accuse God of injustice. Sin is wrong and it must be punished. What would you have God do to those who oppose Him and do evil? Do you want Him to ignore that which is wrong? Do you want Him to turn His head and not be holy and righteous?

He has already given us the Prophet King James, who's staff translated the only authorized version of the bible. His staff could have well had over 100 people, including translators of Greek, Hebrew, and Latin.
The religion you are talking about is the Catholic Church. That church will be destroyed as prophesied is Revelations 18. That means there is allot more history involved with the Christian than the vatican.
Please research and investigate it.

The fact is you do not have to choose religion or Christ to live, how will you go to hell if you don't choose? The fact is the choice is god or Satan if you choose to follow any of them, when did Jesus ever say he would send you to hell for not choosing either

We have all kinds of proof. There is beauty surrounding us. Plus look at the dead sea scrolls, the Rosetta stone, and the seven wonders of the world. Humans never could have done this on our own.

God sent His only Son to die on the cross. What more do you want? Does He constantly have to prove His existence? He's been doing it for thousands of years and gave us the Word of God (written by man but guided by Spirit) as truth. I'm surprised He hasn't said, "the hell with us" and moved on to a new creation.
