Yes.

I love language study in general, but I'm really enjoying Spanish. I took three years of Latin in high school, two years of French in college and now I'm about to begin my second year of Spanish study.

Spanish is much easier than French to pronounce. French uses any number of vowel sounds that don't exist in English, and the way a word is spelled, to an English speaker, does not seem to have anything to do with the way it is pronounced. Spanish, on the other hand, is easy to pronounce. Spelling in Spanish follows the sound of the word.

I've been to Spain and Mexico, and I have found the people to be almost universally warm and friendly, and tolerant of my poor Spanish! Spanish speaking people - just another reason to love the Spanish language!

Not really, it is very difficult to learn. I was born into it so that is the only language I knew until they put me in an American school in se cond grade. I was also taught French in first grade so I had three languages. It is good to be able to understand what other people are saying and to converse with them fluently. I am rusty with my French but I have some French Canadian friends that I practice with. Give it a try and you may like it.

Spanish is one of the most widely spoken languages on the planet in terms of nations that claim it as an official language, so yes, i'd say it's in demand.

I live in Texas, and had I been smarter in my education, instead of taking German and Latin, I would have learned Spanish. Many jobs prefer bilingual and actually pay more if you know it.
