Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm glad you've found something that has impacted your life in such a deep and meaningful way.
My own reaction to the movie was somewhat different. I was completely unmoved, aside from a natural disgust at the violence, and very disappointed in Mel Gibson, not for making the film but for the way he chose to focus it. There are far more moving versions of the Jesus story than _The Passion of the Christ_. By limiting the scope of his film to only the torture of Jesus, with barely any context to explain WHY we should care that this man was being tortured, Gibson cut out practically everything that makes Jesus's life important to so many people. I personally prefer Franco Zeffirelli's mini-series, _Jesus of Nazareth_.

No I did not go to the movie but I was so happy to read your story and want to thank you for sharing it.
A few years ago I went on an Alpha retreat. When we went into the sanctuary at the end the leaders sang "Were You There When They Crucified My LORD?" With the sound effects of a hammer pounding the nails I broke down in tears at that 2nd nail. I knew that it was my sin that caused that nail to be pounded into my LORD'S limb.
Remembering that experience I knew there was no way I could go to the Passion.
A few years ago I was reading the Bible from cover-to-cover with some Jewish neighbors. As we were looking at the many prophecies related to the coming of the Messiah, 1 neighbor said he was so amazed that his rabbis had never taught him about Jesus. He has since become a Messianic Jew but he attends many Christian worship services with his childhood friend who became a Christian.

I watched it. I was a christian for 15 years. Am now an atheist. I watched the movie while an athiest. Its sad that people would go through that kind of torment. Many have carried more crosses and suffered so much more at the hands of Jesus followers.
Seek to be a better person than these people. :)
The movie made me feel for all that have suffered because of this gospel story, Not the supposed Jesus.
remeber the part when Jesus falls down with the cross on his back and he says to his mother "Behold,Imake all thing new", that made me wanna cry. I get to look back on history and see what 'NEW' means in reality. and what it meant for His followers.
No doubt many christians watched it and cried their eyes out, but could hardly care less about innocent people who are not God in the flesh, who suffer so much more.
The movie is typical christian propaganda designed to pull on our heart strings and give our lives to their Jesus/Christianity
Dont make that mistake my friend. Be a good person sure, but religion is only going to help you get worse.
My native american ancesstors carried more crosses for being native american than what christians have for being christian.

The movie, Passion of the Christ is like a documentary. They speak Aramaic with subtitles. I liked the movie a lot except for all the gory and the blood. A lot of Jews do not appreciate the movie of course because it's against their religion and it portrays them as vicious people.
Jesus was a jew and they put one of their own to death by crucifying Him to the cross. They chose Him over Barabas, the thief. That's why God got mad at them and destroyed Jerusalem to the ground. That's why they were persecuted thereafter. That's why the Jews ended up in Egypt as slaves.
Jesus lived among them and performed miracles in their midst, He died for our sins and resurrected from the dead and still they don't believe. To this day, they can not find the remains of Jesus Christ nor Virgin Mary.
And you can trace all the disciples as being in Israel. . The four gospels were written by Jewish men. Still they don't believe.
I'm glad that you believe, being Jew.ish and repented. It's more than one can say about the others.I'm never one to be judgmental but given all these proofs I couldn't be but convinced with logical deductions. Nobody, no person or race can claim to the degree of the Lord's sufferings. And to attempt could be sacriligeous.at best if not illogical .

Sorry Dave,
I did not see it and have a hard time with that kind of sensationalistic movie about the passion. Nothing can really describe the actual suffering The Messiah went through. Anyone can be tortured and killed for any number of reasons in this world. The Christ was burdened with the sins of the world and his suffering only began on the cross. It ended when he arose!

sure the action picture isn't as solid because of the fact the 1974 Jesus action picture from the Jesus challenge however. Jesus Christ is the "i'm" or God Himself in a visual physique. "For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead actual." -- Colossians 2:9 "Have I been so long term with you, and yet hast thou no longer basic me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the daddy; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the daddy?" -- John 14:9 "Jesus pronounced unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you earlier Abraham develop into, i'm." -- John 8:fifty 8

That is so awesome!! I'm already a Christian, but this movie really did a number on me. I cried like a baby when i watched it. I agree with you about the part where He was with his mother. It just shows us that He had a relationship with his mother just like any of the rest of us would. I don't know how this movie could not touch someone's heart. I love Jesus so much and I live my life for Him. I'm so proud of you for getting saved...isn't it wonderful how much your life changes once you've decided to give your heart to Jesus? God Bless You and always keep your faith in Him!!

David,
When I see your "questions" I wonder why lies, arrogance, deception, and cowardly propagandists exist.
=======================
David,
You are a Christian. Stop this evil and deceptive form of missionizing. It degrades Christianity.

. It is, by definition, impossible for it to be "jewish" to believe in jesus. "Jewish" is, by defintion, what jews have historically and contemporarily believe. Since in neither scenario do we find "believing in jesus", then we must clearly realize that belief in jesus is not something "jewish". You can call it "biblical" (and still be wrong), but certainly not "jewish".
. On the side, the subject of Isaiah 53 is promised a "long life" and "seed" (i.e. physical children). Clearly this isn't about jesus.

oh, and lastly, I've decided that you truly epitomize everything I find intensely intellectually unsatisfying about christianity. (And you clearly do not understand hebrew.)

You say that you're Jewish like me. A Jew wouldn't say such a terrible thing. I believe that movie was produced by Mel Gibson, that anti-Semitic guy. He made that a bad movie. If you were Jewish, you wouldn't have even joked about that film (maybe you are). Impersonating someone is bad, impersonating a religion in general, is racism. jesus was rightfully punished but not by Jews, by Romans.
