Don't you think that the people who post in that section are usually not posting to gain information for themselves, they post because they want to start up arguments or convince people that the way they think is right? That's what's causing a problem, everyone needs to let people think what they want to think, in my opinion...
What do you think?

I posted the question because I'm curious. I'm not immature enough to try to start an argument with someone I don't know.

Actually, no I'm not afraid of those types of questions. I just asked the question to see who agreed with me or what people thought. I never said I don't try to answer them to help people. I just know why the post them.

nope, I think for the most part people just use it to try to push their religion, and the honest, intelligent questions are lost in the mix.
Or are answered by ignorant people.
But, thats just my experience.

I completely agree!!! I wouldn't mind people asking a question in order to start an intelligent and civilized discussion / debate, but not many people do that. And then when someone does, you get a ton of posts that don't add anything. Perfect example - Someone asks a question about the logistics of confession and someone answers with "God isn't real" or "You don't need confession." I don't find those kind of answers useful.

I agree. I'm a Christian and I don't really use this site to "push" my beliefs on others. I use it to defend my beliefs against those who mock Jesus and His followers. A lot of people ask ignorant or rude questions just to get a reaction or to start a fight. It would be great if everyone accepted the beliefs of others instead of mocking or insulting them. I doubt that will happen though. Too many people are full of hatred and anger.

I think people are searching for the truth. In the multitude of counselors the bible says comes direction. Let everyone express his views and see which one is scriptural and actually makes sense. I have learned a lot personally from answers and yes they have changed my opinion on lots of things.
If people fight or argue just ignore it and be glad that when we chose to disagree, we don't go looking for that person to blow them up or cuss them out. We can simply say ok that is your view and I will consider it, but now you consider this.

But you are immature enough to be afraid of questions that really dig into your intelligence only to expose your ignorance, since you cant face up to the truth when it comes at you, not so?

I think it would be great, but not gonna happen. Its hard to find legitimate questions, half of them are atheists harrassing everyone else. It's redundant and keeps people with real questions from asking them.
