No, unless you're allergic to them or something. They're in the daisy family, so if you react badly to, say, chamomile or chrysanthemums, don't eat them. There are other options outside the family that you can substitute.

Sunflower seeds, like most seeds, are high in fat, but it's not saturated or trans-fat, so it's good in moderation. They have vitamins and minerals and stuff--nuts and seeds are good in general. They keep you feeling fuller than other snacks, like chips or cookies, that have fat but also have sugar and lots of carbs. If you eat them to the exclusion of other foods, I guess you might get constipated or something, but only a birdie would do that.

Humans can live just fine on seeds, nuts, berries, maybe some roots and the occasional game kill. Keep your diet balanced--you'll be fine. Seeds and nuts are good for you and you should make room for them in your diet, especially if you substitute them for things that aren't good for you. I can't think of anything wrong with them as long as you don't eat too many. BUT make sure you mind the sodium! Sunflower seeds don't grow pre-salted! If you eat the salty kind, mind that you don't get too much sodium from them, if that's a problem for you.

They make my throat close up, and my lips get big like Angelina Jolie's. But for people who are'nt allergic, I think they are good for you, I have this diet book that suggests eating them for a snack as frequently as you can.
