I am 16, and even though jealousy is an issue in most teen relationships, I've got it bad. Even if my boyfriend (of almost 2 years) talks to another girl who is prettier than I am, no, even if he is NEAR them, I get jealous and start believing that he will lose interest in me and find it in this other, more beautiful girl. I am open with him about my feelings and he always reassures me that I'm the only girl for him and he'd be lost without me, but I can't help the jealousy from coming over me. He has never done anything untrustworthy, so I feel terrible about being the way I am, but I honestly can't help it. I have no idea why my self esteem is so low, but I really need help dealing with my jealousy problem.

Everytime you go to get jealous remember that he reassured you....and think how does he feel knowing that i get jealous all of the time.....he will lose interest in you if you keep this up remember that.........if you need to talk e-mail me through yahoo answers......:)

You pegged it dear. Every one is a little insecure it's okay. They are probably only prettier than you in your mind anyway. Remember Princess Di and Prince Charles? You probably don't but anyway, Princess Di was world class gorgeous and terribly insecure. Prince Charles was World class ugly but the future King of England. He played around on Di famously with Camilla Parker Bowles who was also world class ugly & he later married and NOW he does the same to her! Oh BTW he lost the respect of his people and some say his chances of becoming King.
The moral to this story? Looks aren't everything when it comes to relationships they just get them started. Someone who would stray isn't worth getting upset about anyway. God bless her Di literaly made herself sick with jealousy over this weak chinned, big nosed, inbred tool.
At least you know he would be lost without you. When you see him talking to another girl make it a point to befriend her and do your best not to let him know you care one way or the other. If he is the one he will continue to stay true otherwise there really are other fish in that big ol sea.
I know I sound like your mom sorry but I do have a few jerks under my belt, also a couple of true princes.

At least you recognize it......seek out some counseling. Trust me, you need to get this under control before you get older because you will surely have much heart ache and pain and will end up a very lonely person! Jealousy is like a form of emotional cancer.....it will kill you!

Just relax, girl. If you know he is trustworthy. Then the the last thing on your mind when he sitsor talks with other girls, is him cheating on you. Watch it, if you get mad at everything that has beautiful legs, including his mom. He WILL dump you. Relax you brain, okay. Trust him. But keep a eye on him. He might wonder off.
