I keep an ear to the dog world..I have never heard of such a thing, anywhere! Well, maybe in China... they are banning all dogs in certain areas.

I really don't think so. Look what The Dog Breed Info Center says about this adorable dog.
.....
Though bred at first for use in dog fights, today's Boston Terrier has been bred to have less aggressive tendencies. It is gentle, alert, very intelligent, and well-mannered. Enthusiastic and occasionally rambunctious, this breed has a sense of humor. They are very sensitive to the tone of one's voice. This breed likes to learn and therefore is not difficult to train. Their intelligence ensures they pick things up quickly. At times they can be somewhat willful. Some owners have reported that their dogs are good watchdogs barking only when necessary, while other owners have reported their female Boston Terriers do not bark at the door at all. Most reliable with children, especially good with elderly people and very friendly with strangers. The Boston Terrier is playful, very affectionate and likes to be part of the family. Very popular in the United States, due above all to its excellent character. They generally get along well with non-canine pets. Some males are dominant and may fight with other dogs. These little dogs may be difficult to housebreak.

Many, MANY breeds are on a banned/restricted list somewhere in this country. Breeds like Huskies, Malamutes, Keeshonden, Frenchies, etc. ANY breed is only a bite away from being on a list someplace. And yes, Bostons ARE banned someplace, but I can't remember where it was.

Must be a bad rumor. I have heard nothing of this and most nostons are great dogs. Even if a small dog like a boston bit someone, it would not do serious damage, except maybe if it bit a baby in the face.

No, someone's yanking your chain. Boston Terriers are a very hyper but friendly breed and they would never be classified as dangerous dogs.

It wouldn't surprise me if there is one somewhere in the US. When I was in my local Rottweiler club, we had someone give a speech on dog laws - the Labrador Retriever & English Springer Spaniel are banned in some cities! There should only be dangerous dog laws, not breed-specific laws - the problem lies with people who fight dogs, and they just move on to the next breed when one is outlawed. From Pit Bulls to Cane Corsos, Neopolitain Mastiffs or Presa Canarios.
If you are worried about it, call your local police department and ask about specific breed bans to see if your dog is on it's current 'hit list'.

No. I think it is a rumor someone started. I can't imagine why anyone would want to ban them of all breeds.
