No but I seem to recall something about a chicken in every pot. And Reagan, good actor that he was, had Alzheimer's. I haven't heard Dubya, Ronnie' s evil twin, mention anything about one's home being a castle. Guess not, with all the invasive techniques he has mandated for invading said castles!

I also remember the old saying "A liberal is a conservative who got arrested." There are a number of changes that have occurred with folks we refer to as conservatives today as has happened with liberals. It was a gradual shift - I think the 60's provided so much of a radical shift in thinking that provided for somewhat of a backlash or rebound effect. Johnson was a typical tragic character wherein Vietnam totally overshadowed the progressive changes he began and did implement. Nixon was another sad figure - probably the last of the moderate Republicans which produced the whole scandal. Carter's potential is unknown. Then Ronald Reagan and finally the Newt Gingrichs totally redesigned the Republican-Conservative agenda. It was actually brilliant and totally frightening. They pick and choose and are able to galvanize their base which means they are in touch with the fear factor and fear makes people get out and vote.

Maybe it's in performing arts because the male population didn't want to be identified with Archie Bunker, although you can't help having some empathy for the guy..

I never knew the term as a part of a GOP plank. It is an ancient term.

The rest represented here is idiotic claptrap. It is the "libs" who do the brainwashing.

Your rationale for posing this question in this category is idiotic as well. If you really want to take the political pulse, try asking it where it belongs.
