I've seen a few thumbs up for the Hawaii Entertainment book but from past experience (the lazy/inconvenience factor) I know I won't use any of the dining coupons so buying it on e-bay isn't worth it. Are there other good resources for these types of coupons, at the airport maybe (my husband wants to do the WHOLE Pearl Harbor thing and although touristy, I want to check out the maze at Dole)? Do most hotels have them (we are staying at Turtle Bay). Are there any other good coupons to find - either on the web or when we get there - for Oahu in general.

And if anyone wanted to recommend good food anywhere on the island, it would be appreciated (mostly casual, but would like one or two nice dinners...it's my 35th b-day afterall!!).

New to this question/answer forum. I like it. Hope to be back often to answer questions as well :-)

My husband's a vet of the 1st Gulf War. I'll certainly check out that site.

Didn't have much luck on finding veteran discounts...military yes, not veteran. Am I likely to find the tours of Missouri, Bowfin and Dole in the mags at the airport? Or do I buy them on e-bay just to be sure I have them?

Okay, you can go to the newspaper stands that are on the street, and get the little magazines "This Week on Oahu", Hawaii Magazine, any of those little magazines will have coupons in them! You can also find the magazines at your hotel, and at the airport when you arrive.
For a nice birthday dinner, go to the Oceanarium Restaurant at the Pacific Beach Hotel. It is buffet style and you can view fish from the 280.000 gallon "tank" which is in all three restaurants at the hotel.
For "less expensive" meals, go to the Seaside Bar and Grill on the corners of Seaside and Kuhio Ave. They have good food, and it is a casual atmosphere. I have had many a breakfast there!!

if youre affiliated with the military you can get coupons on hickam, pearl harbor, or any one of the other posts in the area. for food, eat at dixie grill in aiea. its a short drive up the road from the arizona memorial. get there either before lunch or in the middle of the afternoon. lunch and dinner its crowded in there. while youre out there, take some time to do some hiking. maunawili falls on the windward side is nice year round. wear closed toe shoes and take a camera. take rain gear, as its getting to be the start of the rainy season.
