Is it possible for a recently neutered male to successfully sire offspring if he has activly bred a female within 48 hours of being nuetered? One of our males after being nuetered, shook off all anesthesia and went back to "work"....before we could stop him. I know both testicles were removed, but is it possible for there to have been residual sperm in the tubes after surgery....or do I have to wait till said female begins to pink to be worried?

The female WAS in heat. But he has always been a VERY active breeding male...as well. Again I know both "balls" were removed..so the vet did his job right..I have never in all my years seen a cat after surgery hop up and go back to it. I should mention that these cats are different breeds and it would be..an unplanned litter.

Catlover, you idiot! Did you bother to read the WHOLE question as every other person here did? My Cat is an INDOOR cat, WAS nuetered. The question was about the surgery. You are on of the BIGGEST imbeciles I've seen online yet...to quickly criticize someone like me. Learn to read before you pass judment, my naive and illiterate pissant.

a nuetered cat is just like a human man that has been lets say "fixed" thier still might be some left after the hole thing was done. so be assured that now your cat has nothing left! and will not be able to get any other cat pregnant!

I'm sorry if you wanted your cat to breed but, their is no possiable way after the surgery. No even one second after! Don't be worried. I assure you that you & you're cat as nothing to worry about. Some cats right after surgery (24-48) hours show this kind of behavior. (Mating) Don't worry though because he doesn't have the reproduction system to continue the process. Thanks!

Unlike a man whose had a vasectomy ( they are advised to use protection for 3 months after ) a cat cant impregnate a female after neutering.

I wouldn't think he could still have active sperm, but you never know... was the female actually in heat or was he just a horny cat that jumped anything moving slow enough?

I don't think so.... not so soon... But I did have a friend who got clipped, and about a year later his wife ended up preggers again... seems he regenerated... so, unless the tubes were cut short and cauterized, well... nature finds a way....

No, if he is fixed there should be no chance of kittens. So you have nothing to worry about
