Two methods, read "More food from your garden" J.R Mittlieider for the chemical one or "All new square foot gardening" Mel Bartholmew the organic one or combine the two for an intensive organic method. Both methods lend themselves to small intensive crops that would be a great source of additional nutrition in the cramped quarters of Haiti and the climate would allow almost anything to grow well. Both books would allow people to grow a variety of foods in very small areas to minimize work needed to set up the initial garden and make it easy to maintain. Mr. Bartholomew has a web site and may be able to help directly, I'm not sure of the other authors status, but both have a lot to give, Iwish I did.
