Depends, do you have different types of decorating tips? If you do then use the grass tip #233. If you don't have that, then use a border tip #18. If you use a border tip, make sure you pipe the strands of hair very narrow. If they are really thick, then it will look really funny.... And I would make her hair canary yellow with just 2 drops. You don't want it to be neon..... Happy decorating! It's so fun, I love it!!!!!

Usually, I see like weird little tips of frosting, kinda like tufts of hair. I think little ribbons of hair would be nice (flat tip on the bag) or little noodley hairs (small round tip.) You might want to pipe a few different styles out on wax paper to see which looks best and scrape the used frosting back in the bag when you're done experimenting. Use a paste coloring--nice strong yellow color, or maybe, if you're more ambitious, use a few different colors of frosting to give Barbie highlights.

Now, if you're ambitious in the Julia Child vein, you can try spun sugar (check her Buche de Noel cake.) It looks like real Barbie hair--a floss kinda look, shiny, little strands like actual hair. Or you could cover the head part with parchment paper and put on cotton candy--Pastel 'Fro Barbie! Yay! Or, if you want a cartoony, anime type look, tint fondant, roll it out fairly thin, and cut pieces of solid "hair" to go on her head. Very fashion forward.

Grrrrr, now I want to decorate a Barbie cake! Thanks a lot! Sigh. I'm gonna have to go get a Barbie pan, and some cotton candy...
