if you have records that this person has been paying which it seems you have and you have advised them that the customer is no longer paying and the new address then the customer should be de-bulked from your account and littlewoods debt recovery team should take over. if you have not sent copies of these details to them by post do it now and then forget about it.just make sure you keep all the copies of your evidence for 7 yrs. if they make a claim against you it can be sent to the court. you really dont need a solicitor for this. they are trying to pressure you into paying up. dont do it

Go on to the Legal services Commission website to find legal aid solicitors who practice in civil litigation but you do not have to have a solicitor for small claims, it is optional.

Many solicitors will offer a free half hour consultation for you to present your case and they can advise you. It may be difficult now the woman is living in Spain and I would be tempted to try and get it agreed that the debt is NOT yours.
Quite frankly, I don't see why Littlewoods should be insisting that you pay. I take it you were acting as an agent for them and obtaining orders and collecting payments on their behalf.
I think I would be looking to shame them. They want to win every which way they can by paying agents a SMALL commission on goods ordered/monies collected.
Good luck.

Go and see your local solicitor. You will also get legal aid. I think you have a strong case.

You can represent your in the small claims court but it will cost you about £90 for the lodging of the forms etc. If a judgment is in your favour then your ex neighbour may have to pay your costs as well as the money she owes you. Have a look at the website below for further info because it can get a little complicated:

I wouldn't waste time looking for a solicitor,go back to citizens advice and ask them to put it in writing to the catalouge that you are in the right, because if you go to court there is no chance of them being able to recover the money as the person involved is in spain and out of uk juristiction.

You got burned. If this person is in Spain; another country, and doesn't come back to your country, then your out of luck.
You can get an order for them to pay but unless they are in your country there's nothing you can do.
If they do show up to court they will have to prove that they paid you. Saying they paid you isn't enough. They will have to show reciepts. Dont' hold your breath though because if they dont' come back to your country, your not going to get any money.
