A balanced diet is always best. If you are under 18 and trying to bulk up there is a theory that bulky muscles can stunt your long bone growth which doesn,t stop till around 24. If you want sexy studly defined muscles and to be taller try swimming laps or track over bulking up.
Whatever you do avoid animal protein due to BSE also increased steroids (estrogen) which make bulking up moot. Soy is better.

I agree with Izzy. Protein shakes, in general whey protein shakes, are simply a by product of milk / cheese production. It has a high digestability and is considered an excellent source of protein.

You can save yourself some money and eat a can of tuna and more or less get the same result as drinking a protein shake.

Keep in mind that 99% of protein shakes are not magical elixirs like the ads say they are -- they are just super convenient and often tasty ways of getting another 20 - 30 grams of protein in a single serving.

I have heard of no risk of taking protein shakes by anyone other than lactose intolerant folks (people who can't digest milk). I wouldn't go nuts over it and try to consume normal food, but an occasional protein shake certainly will not harm you.

These people! Whey protein is just that, PROTEIN! It's not creatine or anything else that can cause problems. As a matter of fact, whey protein is the best for your body just under whole food protein (lean meats, nuts, eggs, etc.). A couple of shakes a day with 8-10 ounces of skim milk is an excellent way to take in 30+ grams of protein.

It all depends on the total amount of protein you're getting in a day and if you're doing the necessary exercises to make the muscles.
How far under 18 are you exactly? You could be 3 months from turning 18 or 13.
I wouldn't advise things like that to under 18s in any case.

With a high(er) protein intake you need to make sure you're taking in plenty of water. Too much protein can be bad for the kidneys and you might need to take a calcium supplement.

They sure can help body building but don't take them if you are going through a growth spurt, I've heard this several times and I've also heard it can do some weird stuff with your growth in general.

I also have a feeling that schools don't want you to take them because on a physical form I had to fill out for track it said "Do you take any steroids or protein shakes/suppliments for recreational use?" It doesn't sound good so if you do participate in school sports check with your coaches and nurse to make sure you can take them without getting into big trouble.

NOPE! The penis isn't a muscle-this is in ordinary words administration "through" muscle. As for the libido of bodybuilders-this is the medication they take to improve their mass. I carry-take all teh protiens, 12 hour time released proteins as well. What it is going to do is keep repairing your muscle communities after a not ordinary workout habitual and keep an excellent nitrogen count number on your equipment, therefore your pump will proceed to be longer and that is sweet.
