There. Now that I have your attention, my question has nothing to do with sex.

Who here buys into the whole concept of there being 'the one'. I know it's sappy and all, but I buy it. Anyone else? Really curious how many believe it and how many don't. Feel free to keep the answers short and simple if you want.

Yeah I suppose I do believe in the concept of " the one " or " soul mates ". But I dont think we get a clear indicator of it. Yeah, sure everyone says " Oh when you meet ' the one ' you'll know without a doubt " But what if we dont know? What if we're to preoccupied with other life matters and they slip right on by? Maybe we never get another chance because they were " the one ".

So all in all I suppose I do believe in the concept, I just think it has some flaws...

Yep I do believe
My husband of 14 years now and myself have both been married before, and have been hurt.
Now we have each other. We are soul mates. We took on each others children which had its challenges but had another 3 together. We also emigrated to Canada from England 3 years ago not knowing a soul. But he is my one and only, and no it's not sappy its lovely. Keep looking you'll find "Your One"

I think there is. I mean you always here about it, although it may not be for everyone I think it is true. I feel like I found The one, we just recently broke up, but that doesn't mean he won't always be The One I will always love and want.

i think that's what people don't get. Just because they are the one, doesn't mean it will always work out. It should, but it isn't always in the cards.

I met the other half of my soul. I love him with all my heart and know I was never truly in love before this. I am 36, talk about a long wait.

My definition of "the one" -

Not somebody that you can "live with." But someone you can't live without.

Even if you find "the one," relationships take tons of hard work. Just because you have to work doesn't mean it's not meant to be.
