mmmmmmmmmm sheppard's pie!
1 lb. ground beef
mashed potatoes.
chopped up carrots
couple handfulls of frozen peas
chopped onion
celery
Salt, pepper and garlic powder
Brown hamburger adn season to your taste... you can brown the onion with the hamburger if you want.... throw in some carrots, peas, onion, celery, and mix together. Personally I like to throw in some barbqque sauce of a bit of gravy right here, but that is no the official sheppard's pie... Throw this all into a casserole dish... then cover with mashed potatoes a thick layer of mashed potatoes is best i think.... Throw the whole mess into the oven at about 350 degrees for say about half an hour or so, until the mashed potatoes on the top are golden brown, but not burnt. you can cook a little longer for the veggies if you want...

I have a recipe that is easy and really good. I call it "garbage" because you can use leftovers right out of the fridge that you might have thrown out anyway
1lb hamburger
1/2 c chopped onion
1 can diced tomatoes
1 small can tomato sauce + 1 small can water
1 can whole kernel corn (drained)
1 can sweet peas (drained)
2-4 tsp. sugar
salt & pepper to taste
1/4 tsp. garlic powder (optional)
Brown & drain hamburger. Add onions & cook until tender.
Add remaining ingredients, simmer over low heat 30 mins.
and serve.
I hope you try this and enjoy it. It will stick to your ribs.
Any leftovers freeze well too.

I love the foodnetwork.com site, but another one to check out is http://www.epicurious.com
They have recipes from Gourmet and other cooking magazines as well as others submitted by chefs. Search for hamburger or ground beef and then sort by fork rating. This is a great site, because people who have already used the recipe write their comments on it and add other helpful hints. Some of the comments are even from professional chefs.
