I am the new guy in town and I really like this girl. We have been hanging out at school alot lately. She keeps sending me all of these signals to me and I am somewhat confused because at the same time when I ask her if I'm coming on a little too strong she tells me that she would only like to be friends. I realize that she is still trying to get over her ex-boyfriend but not to sound mean or anything but what can I do to speed up the process without making her feel uncomfortable.

And no it's not because I'm ugly. She is having trouble getting over the guy because he moved out of the state and he broke up with her.

Getting off of the "friend" list is nearly impossible.
Girls know within the first 5 minutes how far they will go with you, and will probably do so at the earliest possible time. If you've been crossed off the "I'll sleep with him" list, it's very very difficult, and time consuming to get back on it.

You can't speed up the process, if she only want's to be friends then that means she's not ready to date or she's just not interested in you as a bf. And the signals she's giving you could be all in your head because you like her and when you like someone alot anything they do may seem like a "signal" Just sit back relax and date other girls, if she likes you she'll get jealous and then you'll know.

it seems to me (i have creditenals, i'm dr. phils assistant (LMAO)) that she's ready to move on past ex boyfriend yet she's not ready to be in another relationship. when she says she only want to be friends, i guess. what you can do is STOP trying to speed up the process and just be her friend. don't have any ill intentions. be cool and get to know her. but don't close the door to other options either. i'll let you in on a little secrect. most women start relationships with friends because they've gotten to know one another. if another female start snooping around then maybe miss lady will make her mind up a little faster. if not you still got option two and many more. good luck!

Well usually when a girl says that they "just want to be friends" it means that they think you are really nice and stuff but they want to let you down lightly because they don't really like you in that type of way.... I just had to do that to one of my guy friends...trust me it sucks for both of you. But maybe if you are just getting the vibe that she is just trying to get over her ex, then just stick to her and be the way you usually are..maybe over time she will see she likes you "more than friends" too.....

Be her friend...nothing more...give up on the romantic aspects of your relationship for now and move on to the next...It's possible that seeing you with someone else will get her jealous and she'll come to her senses.

She's not into you. Move on. Start showing intrest in other girls. You'll either meet someone you like more or maybe she'll be the one chasing you when she realises your moving on.

give it time, and play hard to get, and pretty soon, she'll be back to her old self, and most likely even be flirting with you, trying to get your attention, and wanting you to ask her out..but keep playing hard to get, and she'll understand that she almost missed a great guy like you..

When she says that, she means "the last horse for US-TOWN left an hour ago, and you missed it." Sorry. Perhaps she means what she says, they sometimes do.

It means she doesn't want to have sex with you. In that case, you have to tell her to spread her legs. If she refuses, then it's time to move on.
